This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Innosight collects when you play Madee's Farm, visit madeesfarm.com or contact our support, why we collect it, who receives it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. Please read it together with our Terms of Use.
1. Who we are
Madee's Farm (the "game") and the website madeesfarm.com (the "website") are developed and operated by Innosight ("we", "us", "our"). Innosight is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at support@madeesfarm.com. Please include your player code (shown in your profile in the game) so we can find your account.
2. The short version
- You can play without giving us your name, e-mail, phone number or any payment details.
- We create a game account for your device and keep your farm on our server, so your progress is safe and you can play with friends and neighbours.
- What other players can see: your farm, your player name, avatar, level, country, and what you write in neighbourhood chat.
- We use information about how the game is played to fix problems, stop cheating and improve the game. We do not sell your personal data.
- Ads in the game are provided by Google AdMob. Ads are personalised only if you allow it (on iPhone through the system tracking question, and in the EU, UK and some US states through a consent message).
- You can report and block other players, and you can delete your account and its data at any time in the game: Profile → DELETE ACCOUNT.
3. Data we collect
3.1 Game account
When you open the game for the first time we create an account automatically. It contains:
- a random account id and a player code (a short code that other players can use to find you);
- an identifier for your device that the game uses to create and recover your guest account. On iPhone this is an identifier specific to our app; it is not the advertising identifier;
- the player name, avatar and farm flag you choose. We never collect photos;
- your farm and progress: fields, crops, trees, animals and their names, pets, buildings, production, decorations, storage, orders, coins, gems, experience and level, quests, achievements, daily rewards, event progress and your settings;
- the language of the game and the version of these legal documents you accepted;
- when the account was created and last updated.
3.2 Optional profile details
You may enter your birth year and your country. Both are optional and you can change them at any time in your profile. Your country is shown to other players next to your name; your birth year is never shown to other players. We use your birth year to understand the age of our players as a group and to keep the game suitable for its audience.
3.3 Sign in with Apple or Google (optional)
If you link your account to Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive and store only the anonymous user identifier Apple or Google gives us for our game, so that you can recover your account on a new device. We never receive your password and we do not store your e-mail address. When you sign in with Apple for the first time and you have not chosen a player name yet, the first name Apple shares with us may become your player name, which other players can see; you can change it at any time in your profile.
3.4 Playing with others
If you use the social features, we store what is needed to run them:
- friends: friend requests and friendships (made by entering a player code);
- neighbourhoods: the neighbourhoods you create or join, your membership, the neighbourhood race and project you take part in, and the goods you ask for, give and receive;
- chat: the messages and quick phrases you send in neighbourhood chat;
- visits and help: farms you visit, likes you give, fields you water on a friend's farm;
- trading: the goods you put up for sale at your roadside stall and who bought them;
- gifts: daily gifts and parcels you send and receive.
3.5 Chat, reports and blocks
Neighbourhood chat is filtered automatically: words on our list of offensive words are replaced by stars, and offensive player or neighbourhood names are refused. If you report a player, we store the report, its reason and a copy of the reported name or chat line so our team can review it. If you block a player, we store your block list so that their messages, visits and gifts no longer reach you.
3.6 Game activity (analytics)
While you play, the game and our server keep records of what happens in the game so we can find problems, stop cheating, balance the game and understand which parts players enjoy. These records are linked to your game account and include: when the game is opened and closed and how long a session lasts, which screens you open, tutorial steps, level-ups, the farm actions our server checks (and the ones it refuses), what gems are spent on, moments when your storage is full or you lack something, how long the game takes to load and whether it runs smoothly, which notifications you open, and whether ads were ready, shown or watched. Each record also contains a random session id, the game version, the platform (for example iOS) and the phone model. We do not use this data for advertising and we do not share it with advertisers.
3.7 Balance history
To protect your account, prevent cheating and answer support questions, we keep a history of changes to your coins, gems and items: when they happened, the game feature that caused them (for example an order, a sale, a gift or a purchase) and, for changes made by our support team, the reason.
3.8 Moderation records
If an account breaks our Terms of Use, we may record a restriction on the account together with the date and the reason.
3.9 Crash reports
When the game runs into an error, it sends us a crash report with the error message, the technical description of where the error happened, the game version, your phone model and operating system version, your farm level, the last few actions and screens before the error, and whether the game closed normally last time. Crash reports are not linked to your account.
3.10 Support messages
- In the game: the messages you write to support and our replies are linked to your game account.
- By e-mail: if you write to support@madeesfarm.com, we receive your e-mail address and your message.
3.11 Technical data
To deliver the game, our server necessarily receives your IP address and basic technical information with every request. We use the IP address only briefly, in memory, to protect the service against abuse (for example by limiting how many requests can be made in a short time). We do not store IP addresses in our database. Our server keeps error logs that may contain your internal account id.
3.12 Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your card or bank details. We receive information about the transaction (which item was bought and when) so that we can deliver it to your account, prevent one payment from being used twice, and answer support questions.
3.13 Advertising data
Ads are shown by Google AdMob, which receives information from your device such as its IP address, device and app information and how you interact with ads. If you allow tracking (see section 5), AdMob may also use your device's advertising identifier. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
3.14 Notifications
If you allow notifications, two kinds reach you:
- reminders the game schedules on your phone (for example when your crops are ready); these are created on your device;
- push notifications from our server (for example a gift in your inbox, a neighbour who watered your field, goods sold at your stall, the neighbourhood race ending). For these, your phone gives us a notification token through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which we store with your account.
You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.
3.15 Game engine
The game is built with the Unity engine. Unity Technologies may receive anonymous technical information about the device (such as the hardware model and performance) under its own privacy policy: https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy
3.16 The website
The website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. It only stores the language you choose in your browser so that the next page opens in the same language.
3.17 What we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone input, payment card details or passwords.
4. Why we use your data and our legal bases
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Creating and running your account, saving your farm, friends, neighbourhoods, chat, trading, gifts and rewards | Sections 3.1–3.4, 3.7 | Performance of our contract with you (the Terms of Use) |
| Delivering purchases and handling purchase questions | Sections 3.7, 3.12 | Performance of contract; legal obligations (tax and accounting) |
| Keeping the game safe and fair: filtering chat, handling reports and blocks, preventing cheating, fraud and abuse, enforcing our Terms | Sections 3.1, 3.4–3.8, 3.11 | Our legitimate interest in a fair, friendly and secure game |
| Finding and fixing errors, balancing and improving the game | Sections 3.6, 3.9 | Our legitimate interest in a working, enjoyable game |
| Answering support requests | Section 3.10 | Performance of contract; our legitimate interest in helping players |
| Showing ads that fund the free game | Section 3.13 | Our legitimate interest for non-personalised ads; your consent for personalised ads |
| Sending reminders and push notifications | Section 3.14 | Your consent (the notification permission) |
| Complying with the law and responding to lawful requests | Any, as required | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced them against your rights; you can object at any time (section 10). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what was done before.
We do not use automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you. Our chat filter only replaces words; reports are reviewed by people.
5. Advertising, tracking and your choices
- iPhone tracking permission. The game asks for your permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency. Only if you tap "Allow" can AdMob use your device's advertising identifier to show ads that fit your interests and to measure them. If you do not allow it, you still see ads, but they are not based on tracking you across other companies' apps and websites. You can change your choice at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Consent messages. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the game shows Google's consent message before personalised ads can be used. In US states with privacy laws, you can opt out of the use of your data for targeted advertising. Where these rules apply, you can review or change your choice at any time in the game under Settings → AD PRIVACY.
- Rewarded ads are always optional: you choose to watch them in return for a reward.
6. Who receives your data
- Other players see your farm when they visit it, your player name, player code, avatar, flag, level, country and likes in leaderboards, friend lists, neighbourhoods and player search; the messages you write in your neighbourhood's chat; the goods you put up for sale; and, when you send a gift or help a farm, your name. Your birth year is never shown. If you block a player, you no longer see their chat messages, visits or gifts; they are not told.
- Service providers who process data on our behalf and only for the purposes in this policy:
- Contabo GmbH (Germany): hosting of our servers and databases;
- Apple and Google: Sign in with Apple / Google, app stores and in-app purchases;
- Google: Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications) and AdMob advertising (Google acts as an independent controller for some advertising purposes under its own terms);
- Unity Technologies: the game engine (section 3.15);
- Namecheap and Google (Gmail): delivery of the e-mails you send to support@madeesfarm.com.
- Authorities and others when required: if the law requires it, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of our players, the public or us.
- Business transfers: if Innosight's games business is reorganised, sold or merged, your data may be transferred to the new operator, who will remain bound by this policy.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Under some US state laws, allowing personalised ads may count as "sharing" data for targeted advertising; you can opt out as described in section 5.
7. International transfers
Our servers are located in Germany (European Union). Some of our service providers (such as Apple, Google and Unity) may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where personal data from the EU, UK or Switzerland is transferred outside these areas, the transfer is protected by recognised safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, as provided by those companies.
8. How long we keep your data
- Account, profile, farm, friends, neighbourhood membership, gifts, trading, block list and balance history: for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, they are deleted (section 9).
- Neighbourhood chat: while the neighbourhood exists; your own messages are deleted when you delete your account, and a neighbourhood's chat is deleted when its last member leaves.
- Reports: while the reporting or the reported account exists; they are deleted with either account.
- Game activity (analytics): automatically deleted 180 days after it was recorded.
- Crash reports: automatically deleted 90 days after the same error was last reported.
- Moderation records: while the account exists or until the restriction is lifted. If a banned account is deleted, we keep a one-way fingerprint (hash) of its device identifier and the reason for 12 months, so that the ban cannot be avoided by deleting the account.
- Support messages in the game: while your account exists.
- E-mail support messages: as long as needed to answer you and handle follow-up questions; you can ask us to delete them at any time.
- Store payment records: the store's transaction id, the product and the date, kept for accounting and so that one payment can never be used twice. When you delete your account, they are no longer linked to you.
- Backups: our database is backed up daily and each backup is kept for 14 days, after which it is overwritten. Deleted data therefore disappears from backups within 14 days.
- Server error logs: only as long as needed to run and secure the service.
- We may keep data for longer where the law requires it or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
9. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the game: open your Profile and tap DELETE ACCOUNT. This immediately deletes from our live database your account and farm, linked Apple or Google sign-ins, friends, neighbourhood membership and your chat messages, gifts, stall listings, reports and blocks, balance history, in-game support messages, notification tokens, game activity records and moderation records, and resets the game on your phone. Deletion cannot be undone, and coins, gems and items in a deleted account cannot be restored or refunded.
After deletion, copies remain only in backups for up to 14 days; crash reports, which are not linked to accounts, expire as described in section 8. Messages you sent by e-mail are not linked to your game account; ask us if you also want them deleted. If the account was banned, the device fingerprint described in section 8 is kept for 12 months.
You can also ask us to delete your account by e-mail at support@madeesfarm.com; include your player code.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. We give every player the following rights, whatever the country:
- Access: ask what data we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correction: correct inaccurate data (you can change your name, avatar, flag, country and birth year yourself in the game).
- Deletion: delete your account in the game or ask us to delete your data.
- Restriction and objection: ask us to stop or limit certain uses, including uses based on our legitimate interests.
- Portability: receive the data you gave us in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Withdrawing consent: for personalised ads (section 5) and notifications (your phone's notification settings), at any time.
EEA, UK and Switzerland: you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
US state residents (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Utah): you have the right to know what personal data we collect, use and disclose; to delete and correct it; and to opt out of the sale of personal data and of its use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal data, and you can opt out of targeted advertising as described in section 5. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights. You may use an authorised agent; we may ask the agent for proof of authorisation. If we refuse a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.
Azerbaijan: you have the rights given by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Personal Data", including the rights to know about, access, correct and request deletion of your personal data.
To use any right, write to support@madeesfarm.com with your player code. To protect your account, we may ask you to confirm that the account is yours, for example by sending the request from the game's support screen. We answer within one month; if a request is complex, we may extend this by up to two more months and will tell you why.
11. Children
Madee's Farm is a game for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to play. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, if you are under the age at which you can consent to the processing of your data online in your country (between 13 and 16), you may only play with the permission of a parent or guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, contact us at support@madeesfarm.com and we will delete it.
12. Security
We protect your data with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk. All connections between the game, the website and our server are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Our server checks every farm action, so progress cannot be faked from a modified phone. Access to the server and to the administration tools is limited to authorised staff and protected by credentials, and every change our team makes to an account is recorded with its reason. Sessions use signed tokens that expire. No system is perfectly secure; if a data breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the game or the law changes. Each version has a number and an effective date at the top. If we make important changes, the game will ask you to read and accept the new version before you continue playing; the current version is always available in the game (Settings → PRIVACY) and at https://madeesfarm.com/privacy
